03 — Capability
Engineering & Technical Coordination
Coordination between architecture, structure, building services and execution — resolved at the desk, before it reaches the work face.

Overview
Engineering & Technical Coordination
Most deviations on site begin with a clash nobody caught in time: a duct crossing a beam, a junction detail that does not close, a level that does not agree between disciplines.
Technical coordination exists to settle those questions while they are still a line on a drawing. We work with the client’s design teams on reviewing construction solutions, coordinating disciplines and preparing detailing that can actually be built.
Group capability
Where a project requires it, ECDMT can draw on the architecture and engineering disciplines of DMT Group.
Key capabilities
- Design review and multi-discipline coordination
- Structural and MEP services coordination
- Works preparation and buildable detailing
- Construction solution analysis and optimisation
- Technical support for decisions on site
How this fits the process
Five stages. One chain of responsibility.
The same sequence applies whether the contract is a single residential building or a phased development. What changes is the depth, not the discipline.
- 01
Discover
Site assessment, constraints, existing design status, programme drivers and the client’s real priorities.
- 02
Plan
Baseline programme, procurement plan, resource plan, risk register and the reporting structure for the contract.
- 03
Engineer
Design review, discipline coordination, construction detailing and resolution of clashes before execution.
- 04
Build
Site management, subcontractor coordination, inspection and test plans, progress control and change management.
- 05
Deliver
Commissioning support, snagging and close-out, as-built documentation, handover and warranty period.
